Tough Times

Chris has been laid off for the second time this year! As you may recall he was off for about 10 weeks in the spring and well this tough economy has touched our lives again. We are anticipating only 2-3 weeks but time will tell.

In other news, Isabel is excelling in the Second Grade. Her teacher had nothing but good things to say about her progress! We couldn't be prouder! Isabel is studying ballet, tap and poms at Steppin' Out Studio of Dance and loving every minute of it. Isabel is expecting her 7th sibling in March! She will never have a dull moment! She is the best big sister a kid could ask for!

We have Abbey's Parent Teacher Conference for Pre-K on Monday. Her teacher has already shared that Abbey is advancing to the site word readers group! We are thrilled with her progress in this important year before kindergarten. oh how time flies. i cannot believe my baby will be in Kindergarten next year! Abbey is studying tap and playing soccer.

Chris has informed me that our eldest child Katie, who is a Junior at Wakefield High in Kansas has a 4.0 GPA! Now if it weren't enough to have a perfect GPA, Katie just finished up her 2nd season of Cross Country. Unfortunately her team did not make it to state this year, but there is always next year! Katie is also a Varsity Cheerleader and Captain of the squad i might add! She also holds the office of Class President. We are extremely proud of all of Katie's accomplishments!

And last but certainly not least, the only son. Christian is a 6th grader this year at Wakefield and has earned a 4.0 GPA! We are proud of his academic accomplishments as well. Christian gave us quite a scare this past summer. He was bitten by a brown recluse spider and let me tell you, that is one nasty little arachnid. This child will have a battle wound to go along with his war stories for years to come! He was quite a little trooper considering all of the medical tests, trials and tribulations. He didn't even complain when he couldn't swim pretty much the entire summer! I am pleased to report that he has completely recovered with the exception of one gargantuan scar. He is now known as "The kid with the arm"!! Thank goodness he has a delightful sense of humor.

That's it for now.

A New Endeavor

Well, unbeknownst to them, the Ringger girls have inspired me to begin my own family blog. I felt it appropriate to title the blog based on a recent seminar that Chris and I attended on "How to Raise a Successful Stepfamily" presented by Ron Deal. Mr. Deal referenced the book, "Life in the Blender" by Sandi Patti. I have not read the book but I really think the connotation is fitting. Join us in our journey of life to come.
